One of the best things about being an animal blogger is all the wonderful people and animals I have “met” through Twitter and blog hops. I love joining Twitter Chats, especially the weekly Monday #petchat for everything animal related, and #blogpawschat held the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month.I have made some great furends, learned a lot, and gained some great ideas for blog posts from these Twitter Chats. Perhaps my favorite thing though, is the contests!
BlogPaws (which also hosts the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop I participate in) partners with some of the best pet companies to hold contests during their chats, which means sometimes I get to win free stuff! Who doesn’t love free stuff? Free cat stuff, for my picky felines, is even more appreciated. Last week I took part in the #blogpawschat and won all sorts of goodies from Natural Balance. It was an exciting moment. Coming home to find the goodies waiting for me was even more exciting.
Sneakers enjoys Natural Balance’s Ultra Premium Indoor Cat Formula, and their “stew” formulas; all three cats enjoy soft jerky treats, so I was excited to get something new for them to try. We got four pouches of wet food, a bag of treats, a pen and some paper! There were two pouches each of the Turkey, Salmon & Chicken formula in gravy, and the Salmon, Tuna, Chicken & Shrimp formula in gravy, as well as a bag of Salmon treats. I couldn’t wait for the kitties to try the food, so I ripped open a pack right away. First though, I had to show the cats their new goodies.
I opted to try the Turkey, Salmon and Chicken formula first. I split the pouch between three cats, which meant everyone just got a taste. It was enough though. If feeding to one cat, you would certainly have a nice big bowl full of healthy, delicious food, more than enough to feed even the most ravenous of cats. You can see the food is nice big chunks of meat, Lots of gravy in the pouch too, so you have a little of something for every cat. Mine were very eager to try it. Unfortunately though, even after I cut the slices up they were too much for Muffin and Crash. Their senior teeth (both of which need dental care) are apparently not up for big slices like this; they try to chew, but its just too much work! They did however lick up all the gravy. Muffin in particular was enraptured with the gravy.
I didn’t try out the treats yet, because we have several open bags already. What’s not to like about treats though? Nice chewy salmon treats, what cat could turn those down? So the cats will be getting extra treats in the next few days so we can start on the new bag of treats from Natural Balance!
And here is a great big shout out to Blog Paws and Natural Balance for the awesome prizes! My cats and I are very grateful for the wonderful prizes!
