Wordless Wednesday: National Feral Cat Day

In celebration of National Feral Cat Day 2013 I am flashing back to my first TNR, Mama Cat. Here is she is in the trap, the day I caught her in 2008.

Here she is sporting an ear tip, peeking at me from her little house just a few weeks ago.  My beautiful Mama; with me almost 5 years and still not quite sure of me. 🙂

Momma cat is beautiful. Does she live outside? We are just curious as to why you had her ear-tipped if you planned to keep her. Our TNR group only ear-tips if the kitties are being returned to a feral colony or sent out to be barn kitties. She is so funny Marjorie. She looks at me and I swear I can hear the little gears in her head as she debates whether or not she should come closer. She makes sure to keep furniture between us if there is no clear exit. Then she looks at me, as I crouch down with the food like “oh, maybe I could go near her. I WANT to go near her, but OH MY CAT I AM JUST TOO SCARED!” then she runs away. Interestingly her new favorite thing to do is walk across the windowsill of the back window and look in the house. Sometimes she watches the TV. One day. One day maybe she will be inside with her buddy and they will be warm, dry, safe and comfortable.
